Surviving Male Impotence

Male impotence is the outdated medical term for erectile dysfunction. The term implies a man’s inability to achieve and sustain an erection long enough to please his partner and his own body during sexual relations. While some people assume that an impotent man cannot have sex and cannot have children, this is not always the case. Some men suffer dysfunction in terms of sustaining an erection, but are able to achieve the erection initially. For others, it is achieving the erection that is most difficult.

Many men suffering with male impotence are too embarrassed to see their doctor and ask about treatment options. Many believe that erectile dysfunction comes naturally with age, so they just have to learn to live with it. If you are suffering from any form of dysfunction, it is important that you do not fall into this pattern of negative thinking. This is not something you just have to live with miserably! There are things you can do to improve your condition, if not cure it altogether.

Medical Help for Erectile Dysfunction

Imagine calling to book an appointment with your doctor for your sexual dysfunction. In the course of making the appointment, the secretary asks the nature of your problem. You have to speak up and say that you are suffering from male impotence or erectile dysfunction that does not seem to be going away on its own. This is embarrassing, even through the phone, and your face turns red.

Now imagine an intimate encounter with your partner. Things get heated and they are on top of you, pulling off your shirt, clearly expecting something amazing. You know that your erection is not there. You are paranoid, wondering what your partner will find when they finish with your shirt and move down to the buttons on your pants. You are embarrassed before the moment even arrives, because you know that your sexual performance is no longer what it used to be…it has become a disappointment to your partner and yourself!

Both of these situations are painfully embarrassing…so pick your embarrassment! You may not want to see your doctor about your problems with impotence, but the only other alternative is to continue suffering. A doctor can rule out any larger medical problems that could be producing erectile dysfunction as a side effect. They can also tell you if supplements or medications you already take may be causing or contributing to the problem.

You are not the first man to suffer from impotence, and you will not be the last. If you want to cure your dysfunction and at least have a fighting chance at performing better in bed, you have to see a doctor for a complete check up. There may or may not be something they can do to improve your situation rather quickly. At least you will have peace of mind that a larger problem is not at work.

You may also want to see a sex therapist about your problem. This appointment should be less embarrassing to make, since these therapists specialize in sexual dysfunction for women as well as men. They can help you find medications as well as natural strategies to overcome your dysfunction.

Natural Remedies for Male Impotence

Some men end up going through surgery and rehabilitation for serious erectile dysfunction, but that is not the road to recovery for most men. Ideally, you should start trying to relieve this dysfunction as soon as you notice a problem. If you have already been suffering for a longer period of time, it is not too late to start. There is no better time than today!

The first step is to check into herbal supplements, patches, and other products designed to fight male impotence. The best products have gone through clinical trials and have been found safe as well as effective. They are easy to take, and gradually improve your sexual performance when taken consistently. They work well with a healthy lifestyle of exercise and healthy eating for an overall healthy body that functions properly.

Stress relief can also be an effective way to combat erectile dysfunction. Many men find that they are suffering in this way because they get anxious during sexual encounters. If you are one of these men, you have no medical problems dictating your condition. If you can get your stress under control and learn to breathe deeply and relax during encounters, you can overcome male impotence!

Most men find that the combination of an herbal supplement or patch with some form stress relief is the key to overcoming this type of dysfunction. Just make sure to check with your doctor first to rule out other potential factors.
